Policies



Please take note of the Rochester Inn’s policies, established for the comfort, convenience and enjoyment of all of our guests.
Deposits
The Rochester Inn does not normally require an advance deposit upon making a reservation. However, at the discretion of the innkeeper, deposits may be required for special events or multiple room bookings. A major credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express) is required to secure your reservation. The full cost of your reservation will be charged to your credit card on your day of arrival.
Cancellations
Each guest reservation is important to us at the Rochester Inn. We are a small inn, and cancellations affect us greatly. In the event that your travel plans change, a $30 fee will be assessed if cancelled at least 14 days prior to the date of your reservation. If less than 14 days notice is provided, you will be charged for one evening’s stay. If less than 2 days notice is provided, you will be charged 100% of the cost of the reservation.
In the event that an advance deposit was required at the time of reservation and a cancellation is requested, please note that all deposits are non-refundable.
We understand that cancellations may be beyond your control. For this reason we recommend purchasing travel insurance for your peace of mind. You can purchase travel insurance here through Allianz.
Check-in Time
We have a simple self check-in process to accommodate your travel schedule. You are welcome to check in anytime after 3:00 p.m. You will receive an email with check-in details two days prior to your arrival, and as always, we are just a phone call or text away!
Check-out Time
11:00 a.m.
Non-Smoking / Candle Policy
For the comfort and safety of our guests, all interior areas of the Rochester Inn and the Cole House (including the porches of the Cole House) are entirely smoke-free, including e-cigarettes. A $250 cleaning fee will be assessed, at the discretion of the innkeeper, for lack of compliance with this policy. Smoking is permitted within our outdoor grounds only. Due to the historic nature of our inn, the burning of candles at both the Rochester Inn and the Cole House prohibited.
Pets
We are happy to welcome your small dog (under 25 lbs) with advance arrangements in our Garden Suite and Classic Guest Room at the Rochester Inn. Dogs must be crated while you are not in your guest room and on a leash, with owner, when outdoors on property. A $40 pet cleaning fee, regardless of length of stay, will be added to your bill. Please contact us to make your reservation if traveling with your dog. Please note that the Cole House is pet-free.
Rates & Occupancy
Each guest room at the Rochester Inn can accommodate a maximum of two guests and welcomes guests age 13 and above. The Cole House can accommodate a maximum of eight guests including children of all ages. Seasonal demand may affect minimum night stay requirements. Rates do not include tax of 10.5% or a $2.00/evening Midwest Association of Independent Inns marketing fee. Any incidental charges incurred will be charged after check-out.
